  • Job Overview

    The goal is to gradually achieve superior follower engagement and intimacy, O&O site traffic and revenue by strategically exploiting all aspects of the social media strategy.

    The social media/editorial specialists should have a solid understanding of how each social media and editorial channel works and how to optimize content so that it is engaging on those channels. You are responsible for creating or joining relevant culture conversations on behalf of the Emmis brands and “soft selling” our O&O and various platforms. 


    • Build and execute social media strategy through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification
    • Generate, edit, publish and share daily content (original text, images, video or HTML) that builds meaningful connections and encourages our followers to engage across various platforms.
    • Create and deliver relevant editorial conversation and news to our followers on a consistent basis. 
    • Master the use of our social media platforms to drive traffic to our O&O sites and properties. 
    • Maintain and optimize key social platforms to increase the visibility of our brand's social content.
    • Moderate all user-generated content in line with the moderation policy for each community.
    • Maintain, follow and update editorial calendars and syndication schedules.
    • Continuously improve by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices and then acting on the information provided by senior management.
    • Collaborate with other departments (marketing, sales, FM programming) to manage reputation, identify key players and coordinate actions.


    Desired Skills & Experience

    • Proven working experience in social media marketing or as a digital media specialist.
    • Have a passion for hip hop and R&B music and culture especially for “Gen Z”. 
    • Excellent consulting, writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills.
    • Demonstrable social networking experience and social analytics tools knowledge.
    • Adequate knowledge of web design, web development, CRO and SEO.
    • Knowledge of online marketing and good understanding of major marketing channels.
    • Positive attitude, detail and customer oriented  with good multitasking and organisational ability.
    • Fluency in English (and other languages a plus).
    • BS in Communications, Marketing, Business, New Media or Public Relations or relevant work experience.
