  • Job Overview

    The Brand Strategist works closely with all of the internal departments of the team to lead the strategic and creative development of proposals and solutions for client partnerships.

    The brand strategist will facilitate the communication and creation of sales proposals that meet client marketing objectives.

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop integrated media plans that deliver on key client KPI’s based on strategy
    • Collaborate with the programming, marketing, digital and sales teams to create an integrated strategy and provide executional deliverables for proposals & media plans
    • Utilize all of the assets across the Emmis portfolio (audio, digital, influencer, experiential and content/social) to develop a cohesive strategy and story for client proposals
    • Actively listen to client challenges and collaborate with internal team on ways to address these challenges
    • Co-lead and schedule brainstorms with the Account Executive
    • Teach Account Executives how to build proposals and media plans for smaller campaigns
    • Own the creation of cohesive packages for owned Emmis events at smaller budget ranges
    • Utilize and optimize existing sales materials and templates to develop proposals
    • Use a keen design eye to ensure proposals are clean, concise, and visually appealing
    • In collaboration with manager, ensures team is prepped to present (including role playing the meeting with Account Executive and manager to ensure no gaps in presentation)
    • Develop client and industry POV’s on station and industry trends

    Desired Skills & Experience

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Advertising or Marketing, or a related degree
    • At least 2 years media planning or client-focused strategic services experiences
    • 4-7 years of marketing experience
    • Knowledge of digital display media, audio, social, influencer and industry standard metrics
    • Ability to maintain a high level of productivity and manage multiple competing priorities
    • Passion for marketing storytelling
    • Experience working with cross-functional teams; including audio, digital, marketing, social, and sales
    • Strategic thinking skills and ability to work directly with clients and other stakeholders and focus on bringing in new business
    • An understanding of current and emerging marketing and advertising trends
    • Knowledge of third party research tools
    • Design experience preferred
